The story

A reinforced-concrete villa in Heliopolis commissioned by the Belgian industrialist Édouard Empain, modelled on the Hindu temples of Angkor Wat and Orissa. Long derelict and heavily mythologised in Cairo folklore, it reopened as a museum in 2020 after a full restoration.
